Super Project.

        In 2010, I had the chance to work on a great project, written and directed by Stephan Franck. A super hero movie combining the best of Japanese, American and French influences, with a young heroin as the main character... It was well ahead of its time. The small development team consisted of myself as a production designer and Takeshi Miyasawa as a character designer, with some contributions by Armand Serrano, Joty Lam, Omar Smith and John Bitiu. Best time I ever had... Sadly, it never made it into production.

Le Phénomène Humain.

In 1992, I read this fascinating book by Teilhard de Chardin. Since my copy was lacking a dust jacket, I made this little gouache painting complete with hand lettering to wrap around the book.

Spectrum Awards.

The Spectrum awards ceremony was held yesterday at the Brookledge theater in Los Angeles. I felt very honored to be able to attend. Silver and gold medalists were announced in the various categories from an incredible pool of nominees. The setting was just as awesome as the company and it was a real pleasure to mingle in this classic Los Angeles landmark with some of the most talented artists in the world.

The small private theater was built in 1932 and has a long and fascinating history of hosting magicians, illusionists and celebrities.

Oh, and there's a mass invasion of garden creatures in the backyard!

Fortunately Godzilla is here to keep things under control...

Déclaration des Droits de la Femme.

Les Editions du Chêne publie ce beau livre illustré auquel j'ai contribué parmi une trentaine d'artistes. L'ouvrage réuni la déclaration des Nations Unies avec le texte originel d'Olympes de Gouges. J'ai illustré l'article 3 de ce texte.

I have contributed amongst thirty other artists to this beautiful book published by les Éditions du Chêne. This volume collects the United Nations declaration with the original Olympes de Gouges text. I illustrated article 3 of this text.

It has been a while since I was able to post much material, partly because of my schedule, but mostly because I have been working, in the past few years, on many projects that are either still in development or otherwise unreleased. I thought it might be time to finally show some of that work so I took this opportunity to do a little clean up. I also updated and expanded several galleries in my online portfolio.

International Human Rights Day.

Récemment, j'ai eu l'opportunité et le grand plaisir de participer à une version illustrée de la "Déclaration Universelle des Droits de l'Homme" publiée par les éditions du Chêne. Chacun des 27 articles est illustré par un artiste différent. Les articles sont également mis en lumière et en perspective par des extraits de textes impeccablement choisis, allant de l'antiquité à la pensée politique moderne en passant par la philosophie des lumières. Le résultat est un très bel ouvrage auquel je suis particulièrement fier d'avoir collaboré. En célébration de la Journée Internationale des Droits de l'Homme, commémorant l'adoption de la déclaration par l'assemblée générale de l'ONU en 1948, voici ma contribution, illustrant l'article 17.


Recently I had the opportunity and the great pleasure to participate to an illustrated version of the "Universal Declaration of Human Rights" published by Éditions du Chêne. Each of the 27 articles is illustrated by a different artist. The articles are also highlighted and put in perspective with a beautiful selection of excerpts ranging from antiquity to modern political thinking through the enlightenment. The result is a superb book on which I am particularly proud to have been able to collaborate. In celebration of the International Human Rights Day commemorating the adoption of the declaration by the UN general assembly in 1948, here's my contribution, illustrating article 17.
