There comes a time in any production when it becomes really difficult for an Art Director to sit down long enough to finish a drawing. Fortunately, by then the crew needs no more than a doodle on a napkin to do their work.

You did that on a napkin? You are insane! :P
Oh, and I've been meaning to ask you...Do you do all of this from memory or do you use references?
And here are some other questions :D
Where did you study? What did you study? How long did it take? Do you think artists can live from art even if they don't work for big companies such as Disney, Sony, Pixar, etc?
Can you give some advice as in how to do scenery?
I'm sorry, for all the questions. I really want to learn. I want to be an illustrator, maybe book illustrator, and I recognize scenery is a big MUST, and frankly, I suck at it.
Hey Luc, Really loving these past sketches.
Great meeting you a month or so ago. Look forward to working with you guys, see you Monday. :)

Hi Ericka,
It was a figure of speech, these drawings were done on regular paper.I do use photo references for inspiration or when I need to draw a specific object but without observation, memory and imagination, photos will be of little use. I studied in France up to the High School level but I learned most of what I know outside of school. It will take however long as is necessary. Artists can absolutely live from their art, independent of large corporations. A basic knowledge of perspective is useful to draw scenery as well as a good sense of composition. I don't know if this is helpful...
Good Luck.
Hi Ben,
Pleasure to meet you.
Welcome aboard.
Cheers.
Thank you for answering my questions.
Sorry about not getting the figure of speech, haha, english is not my first language :)
"It will take however long as is necessary." It's true, thank you for letting me know that.
Keep on creating.

Hello Aurelie,
Je t'echangerais volontiers "la cle magique des decors super chouettes" contre "le secret infaillible des personnages trop mignons" qui m'aiderais bien sur certains de mes projets. En attendant cet evenement, je visite regulierement ton blog en quete d'inspiration.
Cheers.
