Well Ben, Here in southern California we don't get much rain in summer, so by August, the summer hill is quite yellow and dry as a bone. This one was painted in the morning. The rain usually comes in winter and so by February the winter hill is green and lush in the late afternoon light. Cheers.

thanks for the insight. makes sense. sorry, i am pretty new to southern California, i haven't gotten into the rhythms of the seasons quite yet.
really enjoy both of them.
It takes a while to notice a rythm at all, particularly in a year like this one. Glad you enjoy.
Cheers.
