I like that there are little differences between the sketch and the final piece. Were these your own changes, or did someone else (like the director) ask for them?

Not to minimize the contributions of many others (directors and fellow designers as well as layout artists) in the process, but in this case I think it was mostly attempts at improving and editing by myself that led from the drawing to the tonal painting.
Cheers.

Hi Dag,
Jean-Luc Serrano, a french artist, worked on the movie, in the layout department, producing amazing workbooks. He is now back in France, working on comic books and animation projects. He's not to be confused with Armand Serrano who comes from the Phillipines and has work at Disney in Florida, also in the layout department. Armand is now at Sony and it is a great privilege as well as a pleasure to work with him in the art department.
Cheers.
