Wow, that last drawing is awesome: great composition and control of values. Working in a medium like pencil/graphite must really help your painting--in terms of seeing value.
Hi Ed, Yes indeed, the tonal composition is usually for me the foundation of the whole thing. Although to be honest, it doesn't always help (and even sometimes gets in the way) with color. Cheers.
