Another one.

I was inspired by a retrospective of the sculptor Lee Bontecou at the Hammer Museum in Westwood.

Just ran across your blog- Very cool environments, great work. Especially like the pencil pieces- Any more of those in the archives? :)

Hi Mark,
Yes, I have a lot of drawings in my portfolios and I'll be happy to post some of them in a little while. The next week, though, is going to be devoted to color works. Please check again later.
Cheers.

Luc, this might seem to be a connection that is a little off the wall, but bear with me. :)
Is it possible that the sculptor, Lee Bontecou is a descendant of Dr. R.B. Bontecou, who removed the leg of the handsome fellow reclining on a hospital cot here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/99129398@N00/253510183/in/photostream/

That name is so uncommon, there has to be a link, No?

I don't really expect you to know the answer, but I thought it was curious, nonetheless.

Well Mike, I really have no idea, although I agree that the name seem unusual enough that a connexion might be suspected. What I find most curious is the suprising eclecticism of your references. By the way, this civil war recruit looks awfully young.
Cheers.
